We rarely take time off in the summer - we're more Spring and Fall vacation people. But this year the French bureaucracy conspired with COVID-19 and we ended up having no real choice but to take most of August off, and do so somewhere in the Bay Area.
Valerie (the sourcing expert) managed to find us a houseboat in Sausalito for the month. And this is quite the houseboat! We're having a really good time. It's very cool to be (temporarily) within a real community again. The people who live here are kind of amazing, and the community is really cool. There is a lot of paddling, cooking, eating, photography and such going on - but most of our time is taken up doing absolutely nothing. It's been very good.
